LEGO City Police Forest Station 4440

First off, it came with two 16X16 base plates!!! I find that Lego often skimps on the base plates and then the set is lacking durability. Because it has the base plates I am sure that I won't have to rebuild it for quite awhile, my kids usually destroy the sets with the puny bases in no time.
The second thing I really liked were all of the fun pieces. There is a crowbar, a pick ax, a saw, two pieces of mail, two little gold bars, two Lego dollar bills, a cute little red mushroom, a backpack for a Lego man that you can fill with his money and gold, and of course, the reason I bought the set, the bear. There were also some Lego pieces that looked like a brown brick wall, they were great accent pieces. I will upload a picture of those pieces.

The set also included several vehicles, both of my boys could drive something and not fight over who got what. There is a little ATV for the robbers; and a helicopter and a car for the police.

The red mailbox of the jail slides out so the robbers can have an escape route. I laughed so hard when my kids were trying to push the little Lego men though the hole in the wall so they could escape. This set definitely has plenty of playability.

The stickers that come with this set are made out of a plastic material instead of the paper, which I prefer because then the stickers don't show any wear when the pieces are frequently played with. The instruction booklets in this set came in a plastic bag with a cardboard sheet so they don't get crinkled in the box.

This was an easy build, my six year old and I built it together and we had a great time. He didn't experience any of the frustration that he gets when he builds some of the harder sets.

My usual rule of thumb is the set should cost 10% of the number of pieces, there are 633 pieces so that would be $63, but the MSRP is $79.99. Maybe inflation is going to prove my rule of thumb inadequate when buying Lego's soon, or maybe the cost of the base plates skewed the price. Either way, I still loved this set.

In the product features it says there is a beehive. Does anyone know where this is in the set? I didn't come across any beehive like pieces while building this.
