The Apollo Saturn V was used in the Apollo manned spacecraft
program of the late ?60s and ?70s. Weighing more than 3,000 tons, it
developed over one million pounds of thrust and was the largest and most
awesome rocket ever created. On the morning of July 16, 1969,
Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin ?Buzz? Aldrin and Michael Collins were
perched atop a mighty SATURN V launch vehicle in preparation for their
historic journey to the barren lunar surface.

Nice detail, great alternative to the expensive 1:48 scale versions.
The stand is cheap looking but other than that I am pleased with this
purchase. When compared to the wood 1:48 models, this is actually
better looking. I mounted mine on a wooden plaque with the Apollo 11
mission patch and pin and it looks great.
I built this rocket when I was a kid. I learned how to build rockets in
the 5th grade. I recently purchased it and flew it a bunch of times,
unfortunately, like many rockets, it got away with the C6-5 engine. I'm
waiting for another one I recently ordered and I probably won't fly it.
This is my second favorite Estes Rocket after my Orbital Transport. I
wish someone would develop a model rocket based on the Valkyrie another
cool jet from the past. If in NYC they have the real one purched on
the deck of the USS Intrepid Museum on the West Side.
