Hobbyzone Firebird Commander 2 RTF Electric

I got this plane for Christmas having never flown a plane before. I am relatively new to the RC scene and had previously only had a truck. This is a whole different beast. The plane is very easy to setup - less than 5 minutes and I was ready to fly (except for the 3 hour battery charge). I never flew a plane before and my first flight was about 5 minutes. Easy take off from throw and plane was easy to maneuver on the way up. At this point, I realized I was in trouble and didn't know how to land. Winds were a bit stronger than recommended 7 mph so this was a bad combination. I throttled down and caught a little down draft. Anticrash technology didn't save it from the tree. The wing is pretty easy to break. Tried again and flew for only a minute. The wing is nearly completely destroyed now but it was worth that 5 minute flight. I am addicted now and ready to buy the 11 dollar wing to start again. I have tried to tape the wing but I don't think that is going to work too well. I highly recommend this for the inexperienced flyer. Very very fun.

Revell 1:48 B29 Superfortress

I was with my dad one day in a hobby shop and came across this B-29 model. We were stunned to find that it was "Cream of the Crop." My dad was shot down by a MiG-15 in that plane on October 22nd of 1951 and after limping along for as long as possible, the crew ultimately bailed out over the Yellow Sea (and was obviously rescued). He recalled that when he jumped from the plane he couldn't remember the word "Geronimo" and so he yelled "YIPEE!" He shared how he watched the plane roll over and toward the sea after everyone bailed out. He said the plane was in horrible shape with huge holes in the fuselage and parts of the wing and vertical stabilizer missing - he said it was an amazing plane and unbelievable that it stayed aloft as long as it did... Thought you might like to know a little about its history. As you might imagine, we purchased the model. :-)

Revell B-1B Lancer

Very nice kit. I'll add more later as I build it. However, I thought I'd throw out there that mine did NOT come with rubber wheels. Maybe there's two versions out there. Mine came with plastic wheels, halfed, that must be glued together.
It's still worth the money. Plastic tires are no deal breaker for me. I'd buy again. Still 5 stars!

Parkzone Ultra Micro P-51 BNF

First of all, this is a RC plane designed for people with previous experience in RC planes.
Is the type of plane that will not "auto correct" if you let go of the sticks, however, is very stable and somewhat forgiving.
It will slow down to a crawl, and has no bad tendencies during stall
I can say this is the first micro RC plane that actually delivers to the promise of indoor/outdoor flight.
The Ember, and any other micro plane is just to unstable even in the most slight breeze.
This plane will handle winds ~7 Mph, it will bounce a bit, an might be toss around a bit, however will you always feel you are in control of the plane.
In terms of speed, it will fly slow or fast, either way it will perform correctly.
In terms of built, there is absolutely nothing to do, the plane is 100% built, to the last detail, in terms of durability, is a very light plane, and from all my parkzone planes, is the most delicate from all, the foam will dent easily, the first couple of landings were on snow/ice, and after a while I noticed that I was scraping the foam from the bottom of the plane in belly landings, so I added a little bit of tape on the zones that first made contact.
What I find most attractive about this plane, is that any baseball field is more than enough to fly comfortably, if I don't feel like driving to the field, I just walk a little and I'm able to enjoy the same type of performance that I have on my bigger planes.
I would really recommend this plane, however consider the shortcomings and decide if this is really what you are looking for.
For me, this is the solution for a quick flight in any small space, and I'm very happy with it...

Parkzone Radian PNP

The Radian was recommended to me at my flying club, and it turned out to be a surprisingly fun and effective electric sailplane. It's almost too easy to achieve long duration flights, since it's very floaty and the powerful motor/battery combo can get you out of poor air anytime. Compared to hand launch, hi-starts or winches, having the launch system built right into the sailplane is a huge advantage at the field. However, being an aerospace engineer, I just had to modify the Radian wing. The basic 2-meter model has a blunt trailing edge which is cut off at about 1/4 of an inch high. I glued some balsa trailing edge stock pieces with foam-safe CA along most of the way out to the wing tips. After sanding the balsa flush with the airfoil, I covered it with iron-on mylar just past the joint, so the trailing edge is strong and waterproof. This improved the efficiency of the airfoil, added stiffness to the foam wing and increased the wing area by about 30 square inches. I can't quantify the performance improvement exactly, but it seemed easier to keep it up for 45 minutes during my last flight. I've also lightly sprayed some spots of dark paint on the bottom of the white wing for better visibility. I'd recommend the Radian as a fun, durable model for learning how to soar or just for the pure joy of soaring on a sunny day.

Parkzone Ultra Micro P-51 BNF

I've had my Ember 2 for a few months now and have been anxious to try an aileron plane. Enter the Parkzone Ultra Micro P51. Now, I knew it wasn't going to fly quite like the Ember - being almost 2X heavier and having a smaller wing area to boot. Well, I was correct. This plane will zip like a rocket and climb at near 45 degree angle until it's merely a dot in the sky in no time. I tried to fly it in my back yard - which is about 3/4 acre - and there was simply no way for me - at my current skill level - to keep it in bounds. Later in the day, I took it to a 10 acre open field and really put it through its paces. Mind you, this is my first aileron plane, and my first aileron flights. I had no problem doing basic turns, dives, stalls, rolls, etc - with sufficient altitude for safety. Not a single time. Closest I came to a mishap was when I got it at the far end of the field, with the sun in my eyes, and lost orientation for a bit. The best way to learn is indeed "2 or 3 mistakes high." From the reviews I've seen, this is the micro to get once you're ready to step up to ailerons - NOT the Sukhoi! - and I can't disagree. Not

ParkZone Ember 2 RTF Aircraft

Excellent plane. Much better than any Air Hog -type plane we've tried (even though the Aero Ace planes were pretty good, considering). We really wanted a gym flyer like the Vapor but also wanted some ability to fly it outside as well. Truth is, this is virtually impossible with this plane unless there's no breeze whatsoever. However, still an excellent flyer, given no wind and it's definitely faster than the Vapor and more airplane like in it's handling (the Vapor is pretty awesome in it's own right though).

We would recommend this plane to any parent/grandparent who wants to get their son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter a "REAL" flying R/C plane for the cheapest price possible. Don't waste your time or money on anything below this as we have already tried most of the Walmart/Target toys and would have easily paid for this one by now (maybe several times over).

As always, be sure to check out You Tube reviews as these are usually the best way to get a sense of how hard or easy these things are to fly.

Super Cub DSM RTF

OK first of all I am a complete NOOB at this hobby.
I have flown Syma s107 helis though, a 5 star product also.
I have PACKED this plane into the ground so hard that I snapped the fuselage into 2 pieces (twice) first time it broke in 1/2 right under the wing through the battery compartment and the second time I snapped off the whole tail feather assembly.
Both times all it took to repair was some
ca glue ( I use Zap A Gap) and some reinforced packing tape. both times I had it back in the air flying like nothing happened to it in less than 1 1/2 hours !
The plane is actually much stronger now than when it was new!
Its kinda funny how after you really crash it good, and you Realize how easy it is to fix it, then you can begin to relax and really enjoy flying this wonderful plane.
I highly recommend this plan to a beginner because of its stable flying characteristics and also because it is a great entry into the repair/maintenance side of RC hobby with its simplicity

Beginners Alert:
Maintenance and Repair are a large part of this Hobby!
Its a learning process that's what make its so much fun and interesting.There is plenty of help and resources out there especially on the Web.
