LEGO Dino T-Rex Hunter 5886

My kids enjoy pretending to chase after the T-Rex, catch him and then transport him with the chains and harness. The dinosaur's arms, legs, and tail are movable, and unfortunately for me, removable, because they get misplaced and then I have to find them.

I liked that this set came with some interesting pieces; there are binoculars, a camera, and some green tranquilizer darts. I had no idea that they were supposed to be darts, I thought that they were just green syringes until I saw that they attached to the guns. I have uploaded pictures of the interesting pieces.

My usual rule of thumb is the set should cost 10% of the number of pieces, there are 480 pieces so that would be $48, but the MSRP is $69.99. The helicopter is good sized and the T-Rex is very large, he is actually the largest Lego piece I have seen other than the boat bottoms, and I could imagine that skewed the price a little, but $69.99 still seemed too high for the number of pieces that you get. I understand that the licensed sets (like Star Wars and Harry potter) might cost more because of additional licensing costs but I usually expect the sets that are just Lego to be more reasonable. I will have to give this set 3 ½ stars because it is a kind of a small set for the $70 price.
